VOCAL CORD NODULES
Vocal cord nodules are initially areas of swelling on the vocal cords which can become fibrous in time. They are often caused by voice strain or singing, even professional singers can get them. It is important to look carefully at the technique used for voice production as this may well contribute to the underlying problem so we will usually refer you for Speech and Language therapy. Sometimes phonosurgery may be necessary to remove the nodule.
