Snoring is the hoarse or harsh sound that occurs when your breathing is partially obstructed while you're sleeping. Snoring can be a nuisance to your partner but sometimes snoring may indicate a serious health condition.

Sleep apnoea is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops at night leaving long gaps between breaths.. You may have sleep apnoea if you snore loudly and you feel tired even after a full night's sleep.

SLEEP STUDIES
To determine whether you simply snore loudly or have underlying sleep apnoea we may recommend a “sleep study”.
This test accurately measures parameters of your sleep at night and can be arranged in the comfort of your own bed at home.

NON SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR SNORING
Disorders of the nose, mouth and throat can cause snoring in adults and children.
Most forms of snoring do not need surgery and a thorough assessment and simple treatments are sufficient to provide relief for your partner.

SURGICAL TREATMENT
Surgery is rarely required in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnoea in adults but can be very effective in the right situation. Children with significant sleep apnoea however usually are advised to have their tonsils and adneoids removed which cures the condition in most cases.
